This scarf is included in the winter show at The Greenhill Center for Art in Winston-Salem, NC and will be on display from November 1st. If you are interested in purchasing it, you can do so through the gallery.
These scarves are super fun and super warm! The "front" and "back" of the scarves are a reflection, each featuring a different dominant color.
The warp yarn (the "vertical" threads in the scarf) is 100% mulberry silk hand dyed in small batches. The weft yarn (the "horizontal threads) is one of my favorite fiber blends, mixing silk and alpaca. Alpaca brings warmth and softness, while silk lends its strength and shine. These scarves feel light as a cloud, but will keep you warm through the coldest days. The unique weave structure means that on one side of the scarf the central square motif features the warp yarn, and on the other side it features the weft yarn, creating a unique scarf that is different on the front and the back.
